ABOUT MASTER FRAMER KEN LOBO

Long-time Howard County resident Ken Lobo, a mechanical engineerby training, with several years in the manufacturing sector, is the owner/artistic director of Framed Ideas.

Ken is a Certified Picture Framer. His knowledge and ability to handle correctly many valuable and sometimes irreplaceable pieces of art are time tested.

Ken is also an avid woodworker with a very well equipped woodworking shop.

With these skills, experience, and equipment, Ken is able to solve client problems and produce results that are well beyond other framers. He is able to develop novel alternatives in the presentation process.

Ken is also very active in the Howard County community. He is past president of his Rotary Club and currently serves as its treasurer.

CAPABILITIES & SERVICES

Sizes
We have created framed pieces of art and memorabilia from 3"x3" up to 5'x8'x6" deep.

ShadowBoxes
We have built a 10" deep box to house a collection of antique naval memorabilia. Since no commercial frame was available, we constructed one from raw poplar and stained it red mahogany as the client requested.

Multi-sided Frames
Mirrors with multi sided frames ane most common. We've done six-, eight-, and nine-sided frames. We also supply mirrors, with or without a bevel.

Display Boxes
We have designed and built several custom display cases to highlight articles like Japanese swords and an original, irreplaceable Santana guitar. All of these boxes had special mounts and hangers that enable the clients to access their valuable possessions. Hinged doors and locks were provided. Each project used raw materials that were custom milled by Ken Lobo.

Decorative Mats
Inaddition to the regular rectangular mat window, we also create several decorative enhancements: embossed fabric mats, hand-painted French mats and lines, freehand carved openings - to describe just a few.
